Summer Orientation in Stanford

  Antes de irmos para a host institution, primeiro temos que passar por uma orientação em que nos são dados alguns guidelines e alguma dicas sobre o que envolve o programa de FLTA. No meu caso, fui encaminhada para a Stanford University! Quando fiquei sabendo que iria para lá, vibrei! Só lembrava de "Barrados no Baile", pois lembro que foi nessa série que escutei pela primeira vez o nome dessa universidade!

Além de Stanford ser uma universidade super conceituada em todo o território americano, ela se localiza na linda São Francisco. Não poderia ser mais perfeito!!!

Vou colocar aqui um pouquinho do que vai rolar por lá...

Sunday, August 12 - Afternoon - Stanford Campus Scavenger Hunt

Since many of you will be arriving early in the day, we thought you might be interested in getting to know the campus a little better and having some fun while you explore! In this effort we will organize a scavenger hunt to be completed in teams. We will have prizes for the winning teams. Time and location to be determined.

Monday, August 13 - Tour of San Francisco

12:45 p.m. After your morning sessions you will quickly pick up a boxed lunch at BOB (your house) and get on a tour bus to take a trip up north to explore the city of San Francisco! Among other things, we will visit San Francisco's famous China Town, the Italian neighborhood of North Beach, beautiful Golden Gate Park, Fisherman's Wharf and the Golden Gate Bridge. The bus will pick everyone up at the House. Bring a sweater or jacket, as San Francisco can be unpredictably cold/windy/foggy this time of year. It could also be warm, so it's best to wear layers. For your convenience, dinner will be delivered to     he House in the evening after the tour.

Tuesday, August 14 - Barbecue Dinner at BOB

6:30 p.m. In the summer time in the United States people often gather with friends and family in the back yard (patio or garden) to have a casual meal of barbecued meats, hamburgers and hotdogs served with salads, miscellaneous other side dishes and some nice cold beverages. We'd like to share this tradition with you by serving up an American-style BBQ in the back yard of BOB.
